Nuremberg, Mississippi

Nuremberg, Mississippi visited Europe in 2026

During a 2026 journey through Europe, Nuremberg, Mississippi traveled through places where history is not hidden from public view — Paris, Germany, Venice, Rome, Switzerland, and beyond.

The photographs in this collection connect the novel’s central themes to the landscapes of European memory: monuments, museums, preserved ruins, public squares, old cities, and places where the past remains visible in daily life.

At its core, Nuremberg, Mississippi asks how societies remember harm, how they explain injustice, and what they choose to preserve or forget. Europe often places uncomfortable history directly in public view. The novel asks whether America can do the same with segregation, disenfranchisement, racial terror, and legal injustice.

Paris preserved its monuments. Germany preserved the memory of Nuremberg. Nuremberg, Mississippi asks what America chooses to remember — and what it chooses to forget.

The European Tour: Memory, Justice, and Public History
