Stories from Real Life Podcast

Real People. Real Stories.

Personal Stories. Global Impact.

Stories from Real Life is the signature podcast of Media Well Done, LLC, hosted by author, journalist, and storyteller Melvin E. Edwards.

Built around the belief that ordinary lives often contain extraordinary meaning, the show features candid conversations with authors, artists, advocates, entrepreneurs, survivors, public servants, historians, veterans, creators, and everyday people whose experiences reveal something larger about courage, identity, justice, resilience, faith, family, memory, and purpose.

Each episode invites listeners to pull up a chair and hear a story that matters.

About the Show

Stories from Real Life is a conversation podcast about the people, choices, turning points, and lived experiences that shape a life.

The show blends journalism, memoir, oral history, and meaningful conversation. Guests are not simply interviewed; they are given room to reflect on where they have been, what they have endured, what they have learned, and how their stories may help someone else.

Some conversations are inspiring. Some are painful. Some are funny, surprising, redemptive, or deeply personal. But each episode is rooted in the same idea: real stories have the power to connect people across background, geography, belief, and experience.

As part of the Media Well Done storytelling platform, Stories from Real Life reflects the company’s larger mission: to elevate voices, preserve meaningful stories, and connect personal experience to broader cultural impact.

Meet the Host

Melvin E. Edwards is an author, journalist, podcaster, and founder of Media Well Done, LLC, an independent storytelling company and publishing imprint based in Texas.

A former newspaper columnist with more than twenty writing awards, Edwards brings a journalist’s curiosity, a novelist’s sense of narrative, and a deep respect for lived experience to every conversation. He is the author of the historical legal novel Nuremberg, Mississippi, the genealogical biography, The Names They Kept, and the host of Stories from Real Life, a podcast built around thoughtful conversations with people whose personal journeys reveal larger truths about courage, identity, justice, resilience, memory, and purpose.

Through his work as a writer and interviewer, Edwards focuses on stories that might otherwise be overlooked — the private turning points, family histories, acts of endurance, moral choices, and hard-earned lessons that shape a life. His interviewing style is thoughtful, warm, and direct, giving guests room to tell their stories with depth, honesty, and humanity.
